Originally from Italy and now based in Göttingen, Germany, I am a calligrapher and lettering artist with an academic background in Indology. I trained at the European Lettering Institute in Belgium under the guidance of Lieve Cornil and other established calligraphers and lettering artists. My work explores the expressive qualities of the written word through traditional calligraphic scripts, contemporary lettering and carefully considered composition.
I am particularly interested in the dialogue between historical forms and contemporary practice, as well as in the relationship between lettering, paper, texture and space. My love of nature and animals is also beginning to find its way into my work through an emerging interest in botanical drawing.
Alongside my own practice, I teach calligraphy workshops and courses, introducing participants to different scripts, tools and approaches while encouraging them to develop their own sensitivity to rhythm, form and expression.
